This week on Alt.Latino we’re picking our favorite albums and songs of the year so far. The variety of cultures and genre we chose is pretty impressive: we’ve got everything from romantic Mexican songs, a Venezuelan rap group with a mixtape that deserves to be listened to many times over, a Chilean female MC who tells it like it is, and an adorable but ferocious young Colombian singer who puts her own spin on cumbia.

The most exciting part of this week’s show is thinking about all the music left to discover this year. If what we’ve heard so far is any predictor, then we are in for a great time.
