Jessica Alba standing up for young Americans

As a mother of two little girls, Jessica Alba worries about America’s future.

“I want my girls to grow up in a world where they can pursue their dreams, build the career they imagine and ultimately have more opportunities to succeed than generations past,” wrote Alba in her Huffington Post blog. “But with today’s economic climate, I see the challenges young Americans currently face,” she continued.

It is because of these challenges that Alba announced her newest partnership with OUR TIME, an organization that advocates rights for young Americans, and ServeNext.org to push for one million new national service jobs.

“She’s an excellent role model because she is someone who is self-made. She is using her privilege and voice to give back,” says Matthew Segal, co-founder of OUR TIME. “Jessica is tough, smart and outspoken and is willing to stand up for her generation,” he adds.

The goal of the OUR TIME campaign is to reach one million signatures on their petition to create one million jobs for Americans by Election Day, and are about one-tenth of the way there.
